My philosophy and background
I believe that birth is a normal physiological process. It does not need to be a medical event, and is rarely an emergency. Our society has forgotten how to best educate and support families in this exciting time. Birth is meant to be intimate, but our current care system doesn’t treat it that way. You are left to process the event and emotions on your own not knowing what is normal. My goal is to help you feel confident and empowered in your choices surrounding birth and the postpartum period.
Each of my own pregnancies and postpartum times were different and came with their own challenges. I have personally experienced a little bit of everything. I believe my experiences allow me to connect with my clients on a personal level of understanding.
I want to make it very clear that I fight discrimination against members of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other underrepresented communities. If you are concerned about facing discrimination due to your circumstances, then you have come to the right place. I will work with you to help you feel safe and confident in the care you receive. Discounted rate available for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, single, and those considering adoption.
